Scientists Claim They’ve Finally Solved The Mystery Of The Bermuda Triangle

Scientists reveal a shocking new theory that may finally solve the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. Discover what researchers uncovered about this infamous ocean region.

Dr. Simon Boxall thinks he has discovered the true cause of sudden ship and aircraft disappearances.

For generations, the mystery surrounding the Bermuda Triangle has captivated the public’s attention through a plethora of terrifying stories and conspiracy theories.

A scientist claims to have finally pieced together the truth about what actually occurs in this area of the ocean after decades of conjecture.

The Bermuda Triangle has long sparked countless theories. In this stretch of the Atlantic, dozens of ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared without a clear explanation.

Some viewers of the popular television program Lost believed that the eerie local legends inspired the show’s plots.

Many ships and planes pass through the region daily without incident, though some cases remain unexplained. The Triangle, bounded by Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda, has long seen as a site of unexplained phenomena.

More Stories

The Bermuda Triangle has been the subject of stories for over a century. When the USS Cyclops just disappeared in 1918, it was one of the first and most well-known incidents.

A lot of people have attributed incidents to paranormal activity.

The massive ship vanished en route from Salvador to Baltimore in March, leaving no clue what happened.

The USS Cyclops, a massive 542-foot coal-carrying ship, disappeared without even issuing a distress call. 306 crew members perished along with the ship.

Its enigmatic reputation was further fueled in 1945 when five U.S. Navy aircraft also vanished during a training exercise over the Triangle.

Many eerie theories have arisen over the years, but Dr. Simon Boxall, oceanographer at the University of Southampton, says none are proven.

Some Explanations

Rather, Dr. Boxall claims to have a simple and very plausible explanation for the disappearances, albeit one that is much less paranormal than the long-held theories.

He thinks that rogue waves, a natural phenomenon, rather than aliens, sea monsters, or other fantastical concepts, are the answer.

He claims that these rogue waves can hit from several directions and soar to extreme heights of almost 100 feet (roughly 30 meters), taking ships completely by surprise.

According to Dr. Boxall, a ship struck by one of these enormous walls of water may sink in as little as two or three minutes.

His research was thoroughly examined in a documentary series titled The Bermuda Triangle Enigma on Channel 5.

Dr. Boxall explained in the series how the Triangle’s particular climate and ocean conditions make it a breeding ground for rogue waves and abrupt, severe storms.

“There are storms to the north and south that combine,” he stated. It could be a potentially lethal rogue wave formation if there are more from Florida.

He even constructed a scale model of the USS Cyclops to test his theory by simulating what might have happened if one of these enormous waves had struck the ship.

Boxall concluded that a ship the size of the Cyclops could easily split in two almost immediately under the force of such a wave.

He added that it makes sense that the ship didn’t send out a distress signal because the crew would have been so overloaded that they wouldn’t have had time to do so.

Closing

However, not everyone believes the Bermuda Triangle is any more enigmatic than other perilous oceanic regions worldwide.

“There is no evidence that mysterious disappearances occur with any greater frequency in the Bermuda Triangle than in any other large, well-traveled area of the ocean,” according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

NOAA does, however, agree that natural causes might be to blame for the occurrences, stating that “Environmental considerations could explain many, if not most, of the disappearances.”

“The Caribbean Sea’s numerous islands result in a lot of shallow water areas that can be dangerous for ships to navigate.”
